Recording Videos

Updated: Sep 4, 2019

Get an invite to play Peek-a-boo with your favorite little buddy? You can record a great video in just a few minutes that will provide hours of fun! Here's how:

Get set up:

All you need is a smartphone with a camera

Find a well-lit place, like near a window, where the light is on your face

Have a friend near by? Ask them to record you. If not, use a front-facing camera

Be ready to try a few times, sometimes the first recording isn't the best

Record your video:

The best videos are short and sweet. Aim to record no longer than 5 seconds.

Open the camera app on the phone and switch the setting to "video"

Is someone recording you? Ask them to press record when you're ready, and be ready to stop recording quickly once you finish.

Recording yourself? Press the camera icon with the round arrow in it to turn on the front facing camera. Press the round "record" button to start, and press it again as soon as you're done.

What should you record?

Have someone recording you? Cover your face and uncover it once they start recording to say "Peek-a-boo!"

Recording yourself? Don't worry! Just say "Peek-a-boo" once you start recording and smile!

Want to make it extra special? Add a unique message like: "Peek-a-boo, it's your Grandma!"

Send the video

Once you have a video you're happy with, text or email it back to your family member. You can usually do this by going to the photos app, selecting the video, pressing the box with the up arrow, and then selecting either "messages" or "email."
